Texans sit Cushing vs. Titans with Clowney active
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) The Houston Texans have deactivated their top tackler, linebacker Brian Cushing, for their game against the Tennessee Titans with a sore knee, but top draft pick Jadeveon Clowney is active.
This will be the first game Cushing has missed this season. His knee kept him from practicing all week, and Akeem Dent will start in his place.
Clowney is active for the first time since hurting his knee in the season opener, but Whitney Mercilus is starting for the Texans.
Titans rookie Bishop Sankey will start at running back. Shonn Greene is active after being arrested for allegedly parking in a handicap space and trying to speed away in his luxury car Friday as an officer was issuing a citation. Greene missed the last two games with an injured hamstring.
