Jameis Winston earns first NFL win in front of one of his biggest fans

For quarterback Jameis Winston, it goes without saying that Sunday was a special day. Winston got his first NFL victory, leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 26-19 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

To make things even better though? Winston was able to do it in front of his grandmother, Myrtle, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

"It's definitely amazing to see her out there, to see her on the sidelines before the game. I was so pumped up," Winston told ESPN after a 26-19 win over the New Orleans Saints.

What makes the story even more interesting, is that Fowler reports that his grandmother is actually the reason Winston chose to stay home during the NFL Draft. Fortunately, Myrtle got clearance to fly to see her grandson play on Sunday, and he made sure to make it worth the trip for her.

Winston finished up his second NFL game by completing 14-of-21 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for another score during the win.

Is Winston's grandmother the good luck charm? Who knows, but maybe Winston should attempt to get her out to see more of his NFL games in 2015.
