Seahawks safety Earl Thomas returns to practice

Published Aug. 18, 2015 2:45 p.m. ET

A familiar face returned to the practice field on Tuesday.

Earl Thomas, who had been recovering from shoulder surgery, dressed in pads for the first time in training camp, per Seahawks team reporter John Boyle.

With Kam Chancellor still holding out, the Seahawks had been using DeShawn Snead and Steven Terrell, along with Dion Bailey at the safety positions.

When Thomas will be a full go is unknown, but it's a positive sign for the Seahawks that he was on the field participating in non-contact drills.
