Jaguars release RB Forsett after 1 season
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have released running back Justin Forsett after an injury-plagued season.
Forsett missed seven games in 2013, most of them because of a foot injury that eventually landed him on injured reserve. He also missed part of training camp with turf toe. He finished with six carries for 31 yards and 15 receptions for 82 yards.
A seventh-round draft pick by Seattle in 2008, Forsett also spent time in Indianapolis and Houston.
His departure Tuesday is part of an offensive makeover for Jacksonville, which saw longtime center Brad Meester retire, cut guard Uche Nwaneri and let running back Maurice Jones-Drew test free agency. The Jaguars are looking to upgrade their offensive line, running game and receiving corps between free agency and the NFL draft.
