Chiefs still missing S Eric Berry for Rams game
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Eric Berry is inactive for the Kansas City Chief's game against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, the fifth straight game that the Pro Bowl safety has missed with a high ankle sprain.
Chiefs wide receiver Donnie Avery is out for his third straight game with a groin injury.
Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins is out after hurting his right knee in last week's win over Seattle, further depleting a banged-up defensive backfield. Trumaine Johnson has been out with his own knee injury, and backup Brandon McGee landed on injured reserve with plantar fasciitis.
Backup safety Maurice Alexander is also inactive for St. Louis.
The Rams promoted cornerback Jemea Thomas from the practice squad Saturday to provide some additional depth. The rookie is active for Sunday's game.
