Cardinals RB Ellington inactive against Eagles

Published Dec. 1, 2013 12:19 p.m. ET

Arizona running back Andre Ellington is inactive against the Philadelphia Eagles because of an injured left knee.

He was hurt late in Thursday's practice and sat out Friday's workout. The loss of the dynamic rookie from Clemson is a significant blow to the Arizona offense because he provides speed the team's other backs don't possess.

Although he didn't carry the ball in the season opener, Ellington leads the Cardinals in rushing with 441 yards on only 73 carries, a 6-yard average. He also has 28 receptions for 247 yards.

Other inactives include quarterback Ryan Lindley, running back Ryan Williams, linebacker Dontay Moch, guard Earl Watford, tight end Kory Sperry and defensive end Ronald Talley.
