Broncos, Chiefs missing starters

Published Dec. 1, 2013 3:31 p.m. ET

The Denver Broncos were without defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson, defensive end Derek Wolfe, cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and tight end Julius Thomas for Sunday's game in Kansas City.

The Chiefs were missing outside linebacker Justin Houston.

Vickerson went on injured reserve this week with a dislocated right hip. Wolfe was hospitalized Friday after experiencing seizure-like symptoms on the way to Kansas City.

Rodgers-Cromartie jammed his right shoulder last week against New England, while Thomas was out with a knee injury.

Running back Knowshon Moreno (ankle) and cornerback Champ Bailey (foot) were active for Denver.

Houston dislocated his right elbow in the Chiefs' loss to San Diego last week. His running mate, Tamba Hali, was in the starting lineup despite a sprained right ankle.

Chiefs right guard Jon Asamoah and right tackle Eric Fisher, who both missed the Chargers game with shoulder injuries, were active but not starting.
