Brett Favre will start vs. Pats
Despite being diagnosed with two fractures in his left ankle this past week, Minnesota quarterback Brett Favre will start Sunday’s game at New England.
Favre, who has started an NFL-record 291 regular season consecutive games, was listed as questionable entering Sunday’s contest. He missed practice Wednesday and Thursday before returning for at least light work during Friday’s session.
Favre, who had ankle surgery in the offseason, was reinjured in last Sunday’s 28-24 loss to Green Bay when his legs were caught awkwardly under Packers linebacker Brad Jones. Favre finished the game without missing a snap but drew criticism from head coach Brad Childress for three interceptions that helped drop Minnesota to 2-4.
Showing no sign of a limp, Favre jogged onto the Gillette Stadium field at 3:25 p.m. ET along with fellow quarterbacks Tarvaris Jackson and Joe Webb for pregame warm-ups.
