Mets, Marvel teaming for Amazin' Noah Syndergaard bobblehead promotion

Noah Syndergaard and his "Thor" nickname will be celebrated with multiple promotions by the New York Mets in 2017.

The hottest giveaway will be for the game with the Oakland Athletics on July 22, when the Mets team with Marvel Entertainment on a Syndergaard "Thor" bobblehead.

The first concept drawing was released on Monday and it looks, um, Amazin'.

"It was pretty awesome when I saw myself as a Thor bobblehead for the first time," Syndergaard said in a statement. "I'm thrilled that many of our fans will be able to take this home and extremely honored that Marvel decided to work with us on this project."

The Mets will also give away a Syndergaard "hair hat" on May 6 against the Marlins. The first 15,000 fans on that date and the same amount on the date of the bobblehead promotion, respectively, will receive the giveaway. The collaboration is the first of its kind for the Mets and Marvel.
