Watch both of Roberto Perez's homers from the Indians' Game 1 win
The Indians have gotten contributions from just about everyone as they’ve plowed through this postseason, and that was the case again in their 6-0 win over the Cubs in Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday night.
Catcher Roberto Perez, who homered only three times during the regular season, hit a solo shot off Jon Lester in the fourth inning and then crushed a three-run blast off Hector Rondon to put the game out of reach in the eighth.
Not only did Perez’s two homers provide all the offense Cleveland would need behind Corey Kluber, Andrew Miller and Cody Allen, it put him in some pretty exclusive company in both Indians history and World Series history:
