Watch Dexter Fowler make World Series history with a leadoff HR for the Cubs
Dexter Fowler certainly didn’t waste any time.
The Cubs’ center fielder took Indians right-hander Corey Kluber deep in the first inning Wednesday, becoming the first player to lead off a World Series Game 7 with a homer.
It’s the second consecutive night the Cubs taken a 1-0 lead on a first-inning homer, with Kris Bryant going yard against Josh Tomlin in Game 6. Unlike Bryant's blast on Tuesday, though, this one just cleared the wall and center fielder Rajai Davis' glove:
Tonight's decisive Game 7 will determine whether the Cubs win their first World Series championship since 1908, or whether the Indians win their first since 1948.
