Green Bay Packers awarded compensatory 5th round pick

Published Feb. 24, 2017 3:39 p.m. ET

The Green Bay Packers have been awarded a compensatory fifth-round pick after losing quarterback Scott Tolzien and cornerback Casey Heyward in free agency last spring.

The Packers signed no compensatory free agents, and were one of 16 teams to receive additional picks in the upcoming NFL Draft.

The pick is the 39th of the fifth round, and No. 184 overall.

Green Bay now has eight picks this season, including the 29th overall pick, and are expected to shore up their depleted secondary in the first round according to early mock drafts.
