We're down to two in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, as England defeated Australia 3-1 on Wednesday to advance to the final.

The Lionesses will match up against Spain in Sunday's championship match. Coverage begins at 5 a.m. ET, with the game kicking off at 6 a.m. ET on FOX and the FOX Sports app.

From a betting perspective, it's been a team-two race since the knockout stage began. Heading into the quarterfinals, England was the betting favorite at +240 before Spain defeated the Netherlands in the quarters and catapulted itself to the top of the oddsboard at +175.

However, things shifted quickly. Once England defeated Colombia in the quarterfinals, it once again became the favorite at +155, narrowly edging Spain at +175. Then after Spain's win over Sweden, La Roja was back on top at -125. That was until England punched its ticket to the big show.

Spain vs. England Preview in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup final

The "World Cup Tonight" crew previewed the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup final matchup between Spain and England.

Spain and England are each seeking their first WWC title.

The teams have met 11 times. England has six wins, Spain has two, and the nations have played to three draws. England holds a 1-0-1 edge over Spain in WWC matches.

England will get a boost from the return of star Lauren James. James, who has three goals, sat out the past two matches after getting a red card against Nigeria in the round of 16.

The most recent matchup between the teams was England's 2-1 win over Spain at the European Women's Championship on Chloe Kelly's goal in extra time for its first European title.

Spain is playing in its third Women's World Cup. Spain's previous best showing was in 2019, finishing second in Group B and losing in the round of 16 to the USWNT.

Spain’s previous major-tournament semifinal was a loss to Italy at Euro 1997, which went straight from the group stage to the semis.

England has dominated women's soccer of late, winning the Women's Euro 2022 with a 2-1 decision over Germany at Wembley Stadium.

England has one loss in its last 38 matches, a 2-0 defeat to Australia in an April 11 friendly at Brentford, England.

England has qualified for the WWC six times, finishing third in 2015 and fourth in 2019.
