Rainout gives Reds much needed rest

No one likes to have a game rained out, but Thursday's rainout may have come at the perfect time for the Reds.

After playing 13 innings Wednesday night, Reds manager Bryan Price planned to rest some of his regulars in Thursday's game, but with the unplanned off day, now that is no longer necessary.

"It's great,” Price told the Cincinnati Enquirer. “Everyone got rested, and as much as we would have missed having Jay and Fraz in the lineup, everybody needed a rest."
