Orioles' new outfielder from Korea comes with his own theme song
In Kim Hyun-soo, the Baltimore Orioles have added a power-hitting outfielder who has a career batting average of .318 over 10 seasons in the Korean Baseball Organization. Kim hit 28 homers and walked 101 times in 141 games last season.
"He has had over a .400 on-base percentage a couple of times in Korea and he's led his league and he's also led the league in batting and won the Gold Glove a couple of times in Korea," Orioles vice president Dan Duquette said (via Yahoo Sports). "... He runs fine, he throws fine and he has good instincts. Beyond that, he's a very good teammate."
Yeah, yeah, that's great. But what's really distinctive about Kim is that he has his own theme song. When the Orioles introduced him on Wednesday, they played it for the first time at Camden Yards. Let's hope that's what we hear every time he comes to bat. And after he hits a homer. And makes a great play in the outfield. Hey, it's that catchy.
