A's right fielder Josh Reddick has wrist surgery

Oakland Athletics right fielder Josh Reddick has undergone surgery on his troublesome right wrist, which affected him much of the season for the AL West champions.

The A's said after the season ended with a division series loss to Detroit again that Reddick would likely need arthroscopic surgery on his sprained right wrist that twice landed him on the disabled list.

Dr. Mark Belsky, a hand specialist in Newton, Mass., who performed surgery on Reddick's left wrist in November 2011, handled the procedure Wednesday.

Reddick, who batted .226 with 12 homers and 56 RBIs in 114 games after winning a 2012 Gold Glove, should be ready for the start of spring training. He hit .176 (6 for 34) with two homers, two RBIs and 15 strikeouts the past two postseasons.
