Huskers' QB Armstrong out vs. Maryland with hamstring injury

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) Nebraska fourth-year starting quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. won't play on his senior day against Maryland because of a lingering hamstring injury.

The Husker Sports Network reports on its pregame show Saturday that fifth-year senior Ryker Fyfe will make his second career start for the No. 19 Cornhuskers.

Armstrong has started a school record-tying 43 games since 2013, and he's won 30 of them. The native of Cibolo, Texas, has battled an assortment of injuries the last two weeks. He hurt his left hamstring while crossed the goal line for the winning touchdown against Minnesota.

Fyfe has played sparingly this season. In his only start, last year at Purdue, he threw four interceptions and lost a fumble in a 55-45 defeat.
