Colgate to play only 10 games in 2016

(STATS) - Defending Patriot League champion Colgate will play 10 games this year, incorporating extra rest into its schedule.

FCS teams are allowed to play 11 games in the regular season, which the Raiders did last year before they advanced to the FCS playoffs and won twice in a 9-5 campaign.

Colgate will have byes on Sept. 10 and Oct. 22. Coach Dan Hunt's squad will kick off the season at Syracuse (Sept. 2) and host only four opponents at Andy Kerr Stadium - Cornell (Oct. 1) as well as Patriot League rivals Holy Cross (Oct. 29), Lafayette (Nov. 12) and Georgetown (Nov. 19).
