49ers CB Wright reportedly seeking to be traded or released

Cornerback Shareece Wright wants out of the Bay Area without playing one game for the San Francisco 49ers.

After learning that he was inactive for the third straight game, Wright posted on Twitter "politics as usual" before later deleting the tweet. Wright, who signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the 49ers, wants the club to either trade or release him, according to a report by the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

San Francisco first-year coach Jim Tomsula called Wright's Twitter posting an "incorrect statement" and said his decision was based upon playing "the guys up that I thought gave us the best chance of winning the football game.”

A third-round draft pick of the San Diego in 2011, Wright started 27 games for the Chargers over the previous two seasons.
