Dolphins place guard Steen, safety Allen on injured reserve

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) The Miami Dolphins have placed starting guard Anthony Steen and starting safety Nate Allen on injured reserve, ending their seasons, and both spots are expected to be filled soon by players who have been sidelined.

Ted Larsen, who has recovered from a torn biceps, is now eligible to come off injured reserve and projected to start at left guard within a couple of weeks. T.J. McDonald is eligible to return next week to make his season debut after serving an eight-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Steen was sidelined by a foot injury that required surgery. Allen suffered a calf injury.

Reserve receiver Rashawn Scott was activated Tuesday from the physically unable to perform list.
