Tebow assigned to mimic Brady
As quarterbacks, you could probably count the similarities between Tim Tebow and Tom Brady on one hand. One thing the players do share is that they both played under Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
That's why New York Jets coach Rex Ryan had Tebow mimicking Brady in the Jets' practice week leading up to Sunday's matchup against the Patriots.
Ryan told Pro Football Talk that the Jets were also picking Tebow's brain to learn about McDaniels' offense.
There can't be many similarities between the option-style offense that Tebow was running and the current hurry-up, precision-passing offense that the Patriots are running under McDaniels, but any bit helps.
If the Jets defense was truly preparing for the Patriots with Tebow under center as Brady, cornerbacks Antonio Cromartie and Kyle Wilson may be shocked at how accurate the real deal is. And how slow he runs.
There's been word that the Jets will be using Tebow as a running back on Sunday. If Brady scrambles his way into the end zone, we know one thing, he won't be Tebowing.
