Lynch questionable against Chiefs
RENTON, Wash. (AP) Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is listed as questionable to play Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
A week after rushing for 140 yards and four touchdowns against the New York Giants, Lynch was held out of practice until Friday with calf and rib injuries.
''He's just banged up,'' coach Pete Carroll said. ''In years past we've always given him a lot of consideration to get him right and he's worked hard to make sure he stays abreast of what he can do, and he practiced well today.''
Lynch was a full participant in Friday's practice. Lynch frequently gets one or two days of rest during the week and still typically is in the lineup for games. He's missed just one game due to injury in his five years with the Seahawks.
Starting tight end Luke Willson and nickel cornerback Jeremy Lane are also listed as questionable for Seattle.
Willson suffered a sprained ankle last week against the Giants, but surprised Carroll with how quickly he was able to recover. Willson was limited in practice Thursday and returned to full participation Friday. Carroll said he's expected to play.
Lane was limited Friday with a sore groin. Last week against the Giants was Lane's first game since being placed on the injured reserve-designated to return list in September because of the same injury. He's expected to be a game-time decision.
''He did a nice job today in practice, so that's a good sign,'' Carroll said.
Lane's backup, Marcus Burley, is doubtful with a hamstring strain. If Lane is unable to play, Seattle will have to do some shuffling in the secondary.
Left guard James Carpenter (ankle) and linebacker Brock Coyle (buttocks) are also doubtful to play. Alvin Bailey will likely get his second straight start in place of Carpenter. With Coyle injured, Seattle is moving K.J. Wright back to middle linebacker, with Malcolm Smith and Kevin Pierre-Louis expected to rotate in and at the weak side linebacker spot. Smith is returning to the lineup after missing the last two games with a groin strain.
Safety Kam Chancellor also is returning after missing the last two games with a groin issue. The time off has allowed ankle and hip injuries to further heal as well.
NOTES: TE Tony Moeaki will make his Seahawks debut against his former team Sunday. Moeaki was inactive for Seattle against the New York Giants last week. Moeaki has appeared in just two games over the last two seasons due to injuries. ... LB Bobby Wagner (turf toe) has an outside chance of returning next week for Seattle. Carroll called it ''a two-week process.'' Wagner will miss his fifth game since suffering the injury against Dallas. ... FB Will Tukuafu is expected to get time at defensive end this week.
