Jets add veterans CB Dimitri Patterson, WR Jacoby Ford

The Jets have been looking to add depth at the cornerback position since they released Antonio Cromartie last month in a salary cap-saving move. Cornerback Dimitri Patterson appears to be that man as the two sides reached an agreement on a one-year deal worth $3 million, FOXSports.com has learned.

While Patterson was released in Miami last month, he brings a veteran presence to a secondary which includes Dee Milliner and Kyle Wilson.

General manager John Idzik has been criticized for mishandling the position by not being able to lure other notable free agents to town. Darrelle Revis, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Vontae Davis opted to take other deals last month.

Patterson, 30, missed 10 games with a groin injury in 2013 before ending up on injured reserve in December.

He wasn’t the only signing as the Jets added wide receiver and return man Jacoby Ford on Wednesday, too. Terms of the deal weren’t immediately disclosed.

Ford, who measures in at 5-foot-9, 190 pounds, has game-breaking speed and could be a good weapon in Marty Mornhinweg’s offense.
