Evans has license suspended after plea

Published Jul. 24, 2010 2:43 a.m. ET

Prosecutors say Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans has pleaded no contest to reckless driving.

Sacramento County District Attorney Jan Scully says Evans had his driving license suspended for 30 days and was ordered to serve three years of informal probation after entering his no contest plea Friday.

Evans was also ordered to serve 80 hours of alternative sentencing and participate in two highway patrol driving programs.

The California Highway Patrol pulled over the NBA's Rookie of the Year on May 31 after an air patrol said he was driving his Mercedes at more than 100 mph on Interstate 80 in Sacramento County.

After the arrest, a CHP spokeswoman said Evans was cooperative and wasn't under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
