Earnhardt on pole for Shootout
Dale Earnhardt Jr. drew the pole for Saturday night’s Budweiser Shootout (8 p.m. ET on FOX) at Daytona International Speedway.
Earnhardt, who won the Shootout in 2003 and 2008, drew the No. 1 starting position in a blind qualifying draw Friday night.
Two-time defending champion Kevin Harvick will start 18th.
Starting second will be Tony Stewart, a three-time Shootout winner. Carl Edwards will start third, Denny Hamlin fourth.
The field for the 75-lap, non-points race includes the 12 Chase drivers from 2010, past Cup Series champions, past Shootout winners, past winners of points races at Daytona, and Cup rookies of the year for the past 10 years.
The race will be run in segments of 25 and 50 laps, with a 10-minute break between.
