Danica Patrick led the way in Friday's final practice for this Sunday's Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway

After a large wreck in Friday's opening practice session at Daytona International Speedway, many of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams opted to make single-car runs or sit out Friday's final practice session entirely.

A total of 41 of the 44 cars entered in the Coke Zero 400 hit the track during the 55-minute final practice. Unlike the first session, only one small group of cars raced together in the draft, primarily cars from Hendrick Motorsports and Stewart-Haas Racing.

That helped Patrick post the fastest lap of the session at 198.133 miles per hour. The SHR driver was followed by her teammates Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart on the leaderboard, while Kasey Kahne rounded out the top five.

The final practice provided those teams involved in Friday's opening session wreck the opportunity to shake down and fine-tune on their back-up cars.

There are no Sprint Cup practices scheduled for Saturday. The only time the cars will be back on track before Sunday night's race is for qualifying Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
