Texas RHP Feliz scratched from rehab start

Published Jul. 29, 2012 6:37 p.m. ET

Rangers right-hander Neftali Feliz was scratched from his scheduled rehabilitation start Sunday at Triple-A Round Rock because of discomfort in his right elbow.

Feliz will undergo further evaluation and a timetable for his return is undetermined.

Feliz has been out of the Texas rotation for two months since being diagnosed with inflammation of the ulnar collateral ligament. He was coming off the best of three rehab starts at Round Rock, having allowed one hit in three scoreless innings Tuesday.

He was set to throw 80 pitches or five innings Sunday and perhaps rejoin the rotation as early as this week.
