Report: Florida starting QB Will Grier suspended for the season for NCAA violation

Published Oct. 12, 2015 1:43 p.m. ET

According to reports, Florida intends to suspend starting quarterback Will Grier for the rest of the season due to a violation of an unspecified NCAA rule:

If Grier is indeed finished for the season, expect the Gators to start sophomore Treon Harris in his place. Harris opened the season as the starter for Florida, however the sophomore has dealt with issues of his own, as he was suspended for the Tennessee game by head coach Jim McElwain.

Florida is currently the surprise of the SEC after starting 6-0 in McElwain's first season in Gainesville. The Gators travel to 5-0 LSU this week and it appears will be prepping a new quarterback in what should be a very hostile Death Valley atmosphere.
