The New York Jets got quite the scare in Week 2 when it came to the possibility of a severe knee injury to wide receiver Brandon Marshall. Luckily for everyone, it was the scare that didn’t happen.

In Week 2 action against the Buffalo Bills, wide receiver Brandon Marshall of the New York Jets went down with what appeared to be a severe knee injury. It was a scary sight to see since his knee hit the football field hard and looked to be something that could be serious.

As Marshall went back to the locker room, team doctors and medical staff attended to his knee and being the true warrior he is, returned to help his team win a much-needed game against their AFC East rival.

Marshall totaled 101 receiving yards and six receptions. Needless to say, his presence alone helps open everything up for the Jets offensively. Many feared he could have had such a serious injury, it could have ended his season then and there.

It’s no secret that Marshall is incredibly important to the Jets, he’s imperative to their success this season.

The Jets are a team built to win now and a big part of that is Marshall with everything he brings to the table.

This knee injury at first was reported to be an MCL tear, then retracted, then once again reported.

As per Darryl Slater of NJ.com, Marshall will more than likely not miss a beat and will play in Week 3 action on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Marshall continues to be one of the best offseason acquisitions the Jets have ever made. Not only due to the surreal season he had last year with the Jets but how he continues to be a force to reckon with even in the face of injury.

Overall, it’s great to see that Marshall wasn’t severely injured as originally thought in his Week 2 matchup against the Bills. It goes to show that as he preaches daily, mind over matter can conquer anything. He’s proof that one can accomplish anything if you put your mind into it.
