Jaguars release veteran DT Mosley after 3 seasons

The Jacksonville Jaguars have released veteran defensive tackle

C.J. Mosley.

Mosley spent the last three seasons with the Jaguars, starting

15 games and recording 136 tackles.

He won the starting job over Terrance Knighton last season. He

started 12 games in 2012 and had a career-best 80 tackles. He also

had 2 1/2 sacks and three fumble recoveries.

Mosley has eight years in the league, spending time with

Minnesota, the New York Jets, Cleveland and Jacksonville.

His departure is the latest in Jacksonville’s rebuilding

program. The Jaguars have parted ways with Knighton, cornerbacks

Derek Cox, Rashean Mathis and Aaron Ross, safety Dawan Landry,

fullback Greg Jones, receiver Laurent Robinson, offensive tackle

Guy Whimper and several others in recent months.
