Report: Cowboys fear RB Lance Dunbar tore his ACL and MCL

Published Oct. 5, 2015 2:23 p.m. ET

As Dallas Cowboys running back Lance Dunbar went to make a cut back on the opening kickoff of the second half during Sunday night's 26-20 Week 4 loss to the New Orleans Saints, his left knee gave out on him. According to Adam Schefter, Dunbar will undergo an MRI on Monday, but the Cowboys fear that he will be lost for the 2015 season with a torn ACL and MCL.

Prior to the injury, Dunbar had emerged as a legitimate threat for the Cowboys as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. Through the first three and a half regular season games, Dunbar had compiled 67 rushing yards on five carries while adding 215 yards receiving and a touchdown on 21 receptions.
