Utah high school hoops star is perfectly named Stockton Malone Shorts

It’s safe to say the Stockton-Malone era was a big deal in Utah when the Jazz Hall of Fame duo powered the franchise for more than a decade during the '80s and '90s.

But we’ve got even more proof of just how much of an impact John Stockton and Karl Malone had during their celebrated run. One of the best players in Utah high school basketball is named Stockton Shorts – actually his full name is Stockton Malone Shorts.

The 18-year-old from Cooper Hills high school has lived up to the iconic name – that also pays homage to Stockton’s famous short shorts – averaging 24.2 points per game this season. And the star point guard is wearing Stockton’s iconic No. 12 to boot.
