The NBA's 5 worst current alternate uniforms

In wake of the Orlando Magic unveiling some pretty terrible alternate uniforms on Tuesday, this is as good a time as any to examine some of the worst alternates that the NBA currently has to offer.

These days, pretty much every team in the league has a third -- and sometimes a fourth, fifth or sixth -- jersey that they wear on somewhat of a frequent basis. It's an easy way for teams to not only mix in a variety of looks on the court, but also an easy way to pocket some extra cash by way of jersey sales.

Alternate jerseys typically allow teams extra wiggle room to get creative and try new things that they normally wouldn't feel comfortable committing to on a regular basis. With an occasional alternate, teams can gauge the reception of some fresh ideas, and if they're not well received then they have the option of scrapping them rather quickly before moving on to something new. This freedom has led to a lot of very cool and good jerseys, some of which even develop into regular threads.

On the flip side, that same freedom also has also led to some teams trying rather ambitious ideas that manifest in spectacularly horrendous jerseys. Others teams just get lazy in their efforts to produce a quick cash grab.

Point being that there are both some very good and some very bad alternate jerseys in today's NBA. Let's take a look at the latter, because it is enjoyable to make fun of things that stink.

(Note: This list does not contain any of the sleeved NBA alternate jerseys because, by general rule, all sleeved jerseys are terrible and should be condemned forever. Just assume that all of those sleeved jerseys are tied for worst overall. Especially all the gray ones.)
