Gregg Popovich lays into Spurs following win, describes team's performance as 'pathetic'
On Monday night, the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Dallas Mavericks by the score of 96-91. Usually, spirits are high after a victorious evening -- but not tonight, not under Gregg Popovich, who was rather displeased with his team's performance despite the win.
The injury-depleted, cellar-dwelling Dallas Mavericks hung around all game -- making Monday night's contest in San Antonio more competitive than it should have been versus one of the league's best teams. At one point, they even held the lead late in the second half.
Popovich vented his frustration to the media immediately following the game -- using harsh language to describe his team's effort and mentality:
Well then...
Spurs players aren't going to do much celebrating after catching whiff of this scolding.
