Trevor Bauer forced to leave ALCS start after injured finger splits open
Cleveland Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer was scheduled to pitch game 2 of the ALCS vs. the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday evening.
It did not happen.
Why did it not happen? Because Bauer sliced his finger while fixing his drone.
Bauer's start was pushed back to Game 3 on Monday, and before first pitch: we got a glimpse of how his injured pinkie has healed -- or in this case, a lack thereof:
YIKES. Talk about a split finger fastball....
[UPDATE: 8:33 p.m.] Bauer's finger started bleeding from the wound in the first inning and he had to be removed from the game after recording just two outs.
Dan Otero entered the game and got a double play to get the Indians out of a two-on, two-out jam and preserve an early 1-0 lead.
