Red Sox fans chanted for A-Rod just so they could boo him one more time

Alex Rodriguez is playing out the last few days of his Yankees career (and possibly of his baseball career), which this week includes a final trip to Fenway Park. On Tuesday, Red Sox fans serenaded Rodriguez with a "We want A-Rod!" chant but never got their wish, as Yankees manager Joe Girardi left him on the bench.

Wednesday night, the chant echoed through Fenway again, and when Rodriguez entered the game to pinch-hit in the seventh inning, it became clear Boston fans weren't chanting Rodriguez's name to honor him. They wanted A-Rod so they could mercilessly boo him one more time (watch the video above).

A-Rod was prepared for it, of course.

Before Wednesday's game he was asked about his potential appearance and said:
