Western Michigan earns 1st win, beats Goshen College, 99-62

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Titus Wright’s 13 points helped Western Michigan defeat Goshen 99-62 on Thursday night.

Wright also added five rebounds for the Broncos (1-1). Tafari Simms was 6 of 10 shooting (1 for 4 from distance) to add 13 points. Markeese Hastings finished 5 of 9 from the field to finish with 12 points, while adding 10 rebounds.

The NAIA-member Maple Leafs took the lead five minutes into the game, 10-8, but Broncos responded with a 9-0 run and never looked back.

Elias Ramirez led the way for Goshen (0-1) with 17 points. Greg Johnson II added 12 points and six rebounds for Goshen. Caleb Wright also put up nine points.

Western Michigan takes on Valparaiso on the road on Sunday, and Goshen visits Miami (OH) on Saturday.
