Impact It has been a roller coaster of a year for the senior. Williams was barred from participating in basketball activities at the start his Western Michigan tenure, as he was described as a person of interest in an NCAA investigation of gambling in college basketball. He was cleared by the NCAA in late-December (per Lou Monaco of Gambling Insider) and returned to the court Dec. 30 against Toledo, scoring 20 points in his season debut. Three games later, he put up a season-best 29 points in a loss to UMass. Williams entered the starting lineup after that, and hasn't looked back since. The Broncos may not be equipped for a meaningful postseason run, but Williams has enjoyed a career year to cap off his college career, logging career highs in scoring (15.3 ppg) and shooting percentage (43.8).
