Ducks land winger Patrick Eaves from Dallas

The Ducks made a trade on Friday, acquiring Patrick Eaves from Dallas in exchange for a conditional 2017 second-round draft pick originally acquired from Toronto in the Frederik Andersen trade.

At the time of the deal, Eaves — at 6-feet, 200 pounds — posted 21 goals (tied for team lead) and was fourth in the NHL with 11 power play goals.

Eaves appeared in 59 games with the Stars this season, recording a career-high 37 points, good enough for third best on the Stars.
