Less than a month before signing day, four-star Wisconsin Badgers commit Tyler Herro announced he is re-opening his recruitment.

The Whitnall High School product, ranked as a top-40 recruit in the nation by Rivals and 247Sports, sent out a screenshot of his future plans via Twitter on Tuesday night.

“After a lot of conversations with my family and prayer I have decided to reopen my recruitment and explore all of my options,” he wrote. “I am not asking anyone to like my decision, but to respect it.”

Herro is listed at 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds and was considered Wisconsin’s star guard of the future. He committed to the Badgers before the start of his junior season.

Former Badgers guard Zak Showalter, who played for Wisconsin from 2012-17, voiced his opinion of the announcement on Twitter.

The initial signing day in college basketball is Nov. 8, 2017.
