Blackhawks C Toews remains out with upper-body injury

Published Nov. 29, 2016 7:48 p.m. ET

CHICAGO (AP) Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews has been ruled out for their matchup with the Florida Panthers, sidelined by an upper-body injury for the third straight game.

Toews got hurt during Chicago's 2-1 loss at San Jose on Wednesday. He hasn't missed three games in a season since he made 76 appearances during the 2013-14 season.

Toews did not participate in the Blackhawks' morning skate on Tuesday, and coach Joel Quenneville says the center is questionable for Thursday night's game against New Jersey.

The 28-year-old Toews has four goals and eight assists in 21 games.
