Giants' Aoki, former Royal, now in position to start All-Star Game
Giants outfielder Nori Aoki has moved into third place among outfielders in voting for the All-Star Game. Last season Aoki was with the Royals -- the team which has a mind-boggling eight players in position to start the All-Star Game for the American League. Coincidence? Aoki has probably been getting a lot of votes from his home country of Japan, at least.
Aoki is ahead of the Marlins’ slugger Giancarlo Stanton by a slim 70,000 votes. The Giants leadoff hitter is currently fifth in the league with a .324 batting average and eighth with a .391 on-base percentage.
Also in position to start the ASG for the Giants is catcher Buster Posey, who moved ahead of the Cardinals’ Yadier Molina this week in what’s been a see-saw battle thus far.
