Phil Mickelson gets fenced out at the Farmers Insurance Open

Published Jan. 29, 2016 4:10 p.m. ET

Phil Mickelson found himself on the wrong side of the fence at the second round of the Farmers Insurance Open in La Jolla, California, on Friday.

After finding himself just three strokes back from the lead in the first round, the three-time Masters winner unintentionally swung for the fences on the 18th and landed himself in golf ball jail.

So Lefty had to do an outside job to bust it out and get back into play. And ended up with a double bogey.
