Simms, who is ranked as the No. 20 outside linebacker in the country by Rivals, committed to the Ducks after hosting Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich and defensive coordinator Brady Hoke earlier in the week.
"It was awesome," Simms said of the meeting, per The Oregonian. "It was really important to have this talk because my dad wasn't able to go on the (official visit) and he wanted to meet all of the coaches personally. I thought it went great and they really connected well."
Simms chose the Ducks over offers from Cal, Duke, Iowa, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Stanford, TCU, Virginia Tech and others.
