Ohio State band will rock London before NFL game this fall

Ohio State's marching band likes to call itself "the best damn band in the land," and now it will get a chance to live up to that moniker on a global stage.

The Buckeyes' band has been selected by the NFL to play in London before the Buffalo-Jacksonville game on Oct. 25, according to the school.

It will be the first time Ohio State's band has ever played an international show.

What kind of performance will the band put on? The NFL has requested a "London-themed show," interim band director Christopher Hoch said, but otherwise left all creative decisions up to the band.

We've mentioned the Ohio State band a few times in this space before and loved the ode it did to famous television shows last September:

The Buckeyes are famous for coming up with great scripts. I can't wait to see what they design to honor London -- guessing a huge red bus formation will be involved somehow.
