Lamar gets 1st win, rolls over Southeastern Louisiana 38-14

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) Carson Earp rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns and Kade Harrington ran for 143 yards and another score as Lamar got its first win of the season, rolling over Southeastern Louisiana 38-14 on Saturday night.

Earp threw for 130 yards on 9-of-15 passing and had scoring runs of 17 and 13 yards.

Lamar (1-3, 1-1 Southland Conference) jumped out to a 14-0 lead and was up 17-7 at the half. The Cardinals stopped Southeastern Louisiana on its first series of the second half and drove 83 yards for a score.

The Lamar defense closed off the Lions, forcing four turnovers. Brendan Langley was the primary force, grabbing a school-record tying three interceptions. Eddie McGill intercepted another one. The Lions were intercepted three times in the second half.

D'Shaie Landor led Southeastern Louisiana (1-3, 1-1), throwing for 92 yards and rushing for 36.
