King leads UC Santa Barbara past Cal State Northridge 82-73

LOS ANGELES (AP) Leland King II had 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead UC Santa Barbara to an 82-73 victory over Cal State Northridge on Saturday night.

UC Santa Barbara (21-7, 10-4 Big West Conference) rebounded from consecutive losses, including a 20-point loss to conference leader UC Irvine on Thursday. CSU Northridge (6-23, 3-12) has lost nine of its last 10 games.

King was 11-of-15 shooting and had five assists, two steals and a blocked shot. Max Heidegger and Gabe Vincent added 17 points apiece for the Gauchos, and each made four 3-pointers.

Tavrion Dawson scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Matadors. Terrell Gomez had 18 points and Lyrik Shreiner chipped in 10.

UC Santa Barbara had a 14-point lead at halftime. Reggie Theus Jr.'s dunk pulled the Matadors to 63-58, but Marcus Jackson and Vincent made back-to-back 3s to help the Gauchos pull away.
