ANNOUNCER: A win against Koln would see Leipzig move back into the Champions League places. Their chance is improved by the return from injury of Emil Forsberg, making his first start of 2018. Koln started with a back five to try and contain Leipzig. But the plan fell apart early, when Jean-Kévin Augustin scored his second in as many Bundesliga games.

Pouncing after Bruma had picked out Ademola Lookman, who'd hit the post. 1-0 on five minutes. Leipzig were utterly dominant and looked fresh, making five changes to the team that faced Napoli on Thursday. Forsberg was playing like he'd never been away, with slick tricks and clever passing. He came close to scoring too.

But without a doubt, the home side got complacent in the minutes before the break. Having missed a host of chances, they were fortunate Jorge Meré was offside here. The visitors from Koln started the day bottom with just 14 points from 23 games.

For Stefan Ruthenbeck's side, the spill at the end of the first half was symbolic. It gave them hope in a game where they had been utterly dominated. The second half was extraordinary. Koln transformed. They pressed and passed like a slick unit. A stunning goal from Vincent Koziello on his first start for the club was deserved after waves of pressure with 20 minutes to go.

At this stage in the season so far adrift in the relegation zone, draws aren't really good enough. Koln need wins. They showed incredible desire to score again. Rewarded when substitute Leonardo Bittencourt met Marcel Risse's cut back.

The hosts had fallen apart. At no stage in the second half do they have control again. They [INAUDIBLE] on Timo Werner. But Kevin Kampl had their best late chance. Can Koln survive? It still looks unlikely. But there is belief. After this win at Leipzig they can't be written off.
