English League Cup teams honor victims of plane crash involving Chapecoense

The response to the tragic airplane crash that claimed the lives of 71 people and was carrying a Brazilian team has reached far across the globe. Prior to Tuesday's the English Football League Cup, the quarterfinalists and those spectators in attendance observed a moment of silence for the victims of the crash that included Brazil's Chapecoense.

Liverpool, who were squaring off against Leeds United in their quarterfinal match, released video of the moment of silence at Anfield.

Hull City, facing Newcastle United, did the same from the KCOM Stadium.

Chapecoense were on their way to Colombia to face Atletico Nacional in the Copa Sudamericana final when their plane crashed en route. The outpouring of support and condolences since the crash on Monday has been immense. Atletico Nacional have asked CONMEBOL to name Chapecoense champions of the final they were set to play, and several Brazilian teams have asked for rule changes to help out the grieving club as well as offer players on loan without a fee.

More and more tributes continue to pour in as the soccer community comes together to acknowledge those affected in the tragedy.
