Arsenal conceded 42 seconds into the start of their Champions League campaign

It only took 42 seconds. 42 seconds for Edinson Cavani to nip in and trigger that all-too-familiar feeling for Arsenal fans.

This may be the earliest goal Arsenal have ever conceded in Champions League, but seeing their team suffer in the tournament is nothing new. They've never lifted the trophy with the big ears, and came closest to being European champs in 2006.

This year, Arsene Wenger spent nearly £100m in the transfer market, strengthening the team significantly. Curiously though, for their opener against PSG, he sat Petr Cech, (continued to sit) Granit Xhaka, and left both Lucas Perez and Olivier Giroud out of his first XI. New center-back Shkodran Mustafi got the nod though, and it was he that Edinson Cavani left for dead for the home side's opener.

Not a great start for Arsenal. But, not to worry. The Round of 16 is still well within reach.
